Easy to use teaching plans and resources designed especially for use in the classroom.
Dolceta is an online Consumer Education project which has been constantly developed over a number of years. There are two main sections on the UK National Homepage:
1) Teachers’ Corner - By clicking on the icons in our Teachers’ Corner, you can access a wide range of lesson plans, fact sheets, resources and tools (such as worksheets, power points, games and web links). These are suitable for use with different age groups and can be used across a number of curriculum areas, such as PSHE, Home Economics, Maths, Citizenship and Business Studies. There is also background information for teachers which links to curriculum theory and explains why it is so important to teach young people subjects such as consumer rights, financial capability and sustainable consumption.
2) General Pages - If you click on the icons in the bottom row, you can access articles on a large range of consumer topics written specifically for the UK, with the European aspect in mind. These subjects include:
- consumer rights,
- financial services,
- product safety,
- sustainable consumption and
- services of general interest (such as energy, transport and postal services).
These articles have been written for the general public, so they will provide you with very useful background information when planning your lessons or reference material for your students.
Make learning fun!
The Dolceta website includes a number of interactive quizzes which allow users to have fun while learning. By clicking on the Quiz button in the horizontal bar on the Homepage of every section, you can access different types of quizzes on a variety of related topics.
