These include:
Name or trade name and address or registered office of the manufacturer or person responsible for the marketing of that product.
Contents at time of packaging, by weight or volume.
A best if used before date for products with a durability less than 30 months.
After opening, the period of time which the product will stay effective or can be used without harm to the consumer for products with a minimum durability of 30 months. This information is indicated by a symbol of an open cream jar.
Precautions for use.
Batch number or product reference to permit identification.
The function of the product.
In addition to these requirements, the label must also contain a list of ingredients in descending order.

Labelling
Containers and/or packaging must bear, in indelible, easily legible and visible characters:
• the name or trade name and address or registered office of the manufacturer or of the person responsible for marketing the cosmetic product within the Community;
• the nominal contents at the time of packaging, by weight or by volume;
• the date of minimum durability indicated by "Best used before the end of ..." for products with a minimum durability of less than 30 months;
• the period of time after opening for which the product can be used without any harm to the consumer for products with a minimum durability of more than 30 months. This information is indicated by a special symbol representing an open cream jar;
• particular precautions for use;
• the batch number or product reference to permit identification;
• the product function.

This information is to be labelled in the national or official language or languages of the respective Member State.
Moreover, the label has to contain a list of ingredients, in descending order, preceded by the word ’ingredients’. Perfume and aromatic compositions shall simply be referred to by the words ’perfume’ or ’aroma’, except where these have been identified as an important cause of contact-allergy reactions in fragrance-sensitive consumers.
With regard to the list of ingredients, Member States may require these to be labelled with the common ingredients nomenclature.
