Welcome to the Financial Services module

In this module, you will find information and advice on 6 areas of Financial Services. Each section contains explanatory notes, practical examples and tests to assess your understanding. Some internet links are also available in each session to provide further reference. The 6 sections in this module are listed below.

  • Managing a family budget

    Are you are struggling to make ends meet at the end of each month? Do you have so many debts that you don’t know what to do? Would like to go on holiday but are not sure if you can afford it? Do you want to have better control of your spending? Then this section of the website aims to give you some advice on how to manage, plan and control your budget.

  • Running a bank account

    You may already have a bank account or you may be thinking about opening an account. This section gives you information and advice on a number of issues linked to running a bank account such as opening and closing down procedures, monthly statements, overdraft, cheque clearing etc. This section of the website will also help you to understand the details behind your bank account.

  • Means of payment

    This section of the website looks at a number different types of payment including cash, bank cards, cheques, E-money and Direct Debit. Although these means of payment sound familiar, how much do you really know about their rules, regulations and risks? The links below will help you find your maze through the different methods of payment and help you to understand the different issues linked to each method.
