Sustainability is becoming more of a key issue for national and local Government as well as the public.
It is also a global issue, as it is widely recognised that there are serious implications to our environment and our health, from pollution caused by the transport we use.
When you are planning a journey, the most common things that you probably consider are time and cost, however, wherever possible the environmental impact of the journey should be considered too. All consumers can do their bit for a greener, healthier society.
This section considers sustainability issues linked to travelling to help you make informed choices about ways to travel.

Our economy relies heavily on our transport system as it impacts people commuting to work, goods being distributed and the country’s tourism industry.
